MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A potent low-pressure system with an extending warm front and trailing cold front will move through the Mid-South during the day and evening Wednesday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed a MODERATE RISK of severe storms (4 on a scale of 1 to 5) over much of the area for the day. FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY SPC 1 (Source: WMC)
Storms are expected to begin developing in the area during the early morning hours and continue off and on through the day and into the evening hours. Damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain and tornadoes will all be possible tomorrow as the system moves from west to east through the Mid-South.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) â LSU Health Shreveport will hold no COVID-19 vaccination clinics Wednesday, March 16.
The clinics previously scheduled for that day have been canceled due to the threat of severe weather.
Vaccinations will be administered between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 at the Louisiana State Fair Grounds in Shreveport, according to an email received late Tuesday night from Dr. John Vanchiere.

Severe weather is possible tonight as a line of storms makes its way through our northern areas, and a couple isolated storms are possible in the south. Some of these storms could be severe with main threats being large hail greater than 2 inches as well as damaging wind gusts. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. We will clear out after the storms with clouds returning Wednesday evening on the back side of the low pressure system. There is a wind advisory in effect tomorrow from 7 AM until 7 PM due to high winds up to 30 mph sustained and 50 mph gusts. There is also a high wind watch in effect for Childress, Cottle and King counties for the same period. There is elevated fire danger Wednesday due to the windy conditions and dry air.
